[Advaita-l] Regarding Introduction Panchayatan to Shanmata

I included Puranas into the term Veda. The point that I wanted to say was that worship of 5 deities as panch dev upasana was pre-existing before Bhagwadpad. Though, I did not see the term panchayatana prior to Bhagwadpad.

Would like to see the reference in veda with regard paNchAyatana (5 deities) pooja.  Traditionally there is a belief that bhagawabpaada himself introduced paNchAyatana pooja but he is also called shad darshana sthApanAchArya.  And normally kumAra / skanda pooja not included in paNchaayatana pooja.
