[Advaita-l] Regarding Introduction Panchayatan to Shanmata

The only issue is that the worship of 5 deities is ordered by Veda. Bhagwadpad introduced Skanda worship as addition to Puja of this five. There must be a subtle reason for this. Does anyone here belongs to the tradition of worship of these six deities together?

Would like to see the reference in veda with regard paNchAyatana (5 deities) pooja.  Traditionally there is a belief that bhagawabpaada himself introduced paNchAyatana pooja but he is also called shad darshana sthApanAchArya.  And normally kumAra / skanda pooja not included in paNchaayatana pooja.
