Namaste.

There is considerable difference of opinion amongst Commentators on the
question of vidhi  in respect of shravana/manana/nididhyasana.

In this regard, Swami Sureswaracharya observes , in his Vartika, that while
there can be no vidhi in respect of jnAna, being vastu tantra, both
shravana and manana are to be categorized as vidhis, both being
purushatantra.

<< अतोऽपुरुषतन्त्रत्वान्नाऽऽत्मज्ञाने विधिर्भवेत् । अन्वयादिक्रिया  त्वस्य
तत्तन्त्रत्वाद्विधीयते ॥ >>
