namaste,

In the kathopanishad, yama teaches para vidya. Bhashyakara starts by
saluting him, and anandagiri's gloss shows him to be a gyani --
"sAkshAtkRta-paramAnandaH ... akartRbrahmAtmatAnubhavabalataH" etc.
In mantra 1.1.9, he presents three boons to Nachiketas in lieu of the
pratyavAya-dosha. Here, bhAshyakAra says "he brahman svasti bhadram me.astu
| tasmAt bhavataH anashanena madgRha-vAsa-nimitta-doShAt
tatprAptyupashamena ||"

Does the pratyavAya-dosha apply to a gyani?

sasneham,

   ajit
