There is Sridhara swamin's (13/14th Century CE) commentary to the Vishnu
Purana. There, in a certain context, Sridhara swamin cites two verses and
says they are 'vāyuukteḥ':
Sridhara Swamin cites a verse :
रोदनाद्द्रवणाच्चैव रुद्रा नाम्नेति विश्रुताः || However, on a search, this
is found in the Padma Puranam. Sri Vishnuchitta, a descendent in the
Ramanuja lineage, who preceded Sridhara swamin, too says 'vāyuukteḥ' in his
Vishnu purana commentary for the same verse.
Close by, Sridhara Swamin cites another couple of verses saying they are
'vāyuukteḥ'::
This verse is found in the Kurmapuranam.
Sridhara swamin cites this too as 'vāyuukteḥ':: This is found in the
Vāyavīyasamhitā of the Shiva puranam:
From all this it may be surmised that in the last few centuries a major
reshuffling of the Shiva, Vayu and Kurma and Padma purana has happened.
Much deeper study is required to say anything decisive.
regards
subbu
