Hello all,
There are people you look at and at a glance, the desire to know everything
about them erupts abruptly. I, however, consider myself not to be a person
of such great stature and shall thereby refrain from divulging much about
myself and more about what brings me here.
I consider my interest in Advaita-Vedanta to be fated in many ways. I was
born into a family that practices advaita-vedanta, however, like most people
my age, I found myself looking elsewhere to find answers. A couple of years
later, I find myself back where I started, and this time wish to explore and
understand the beauty of advaita-vedanta.

I live in Lancashire, England. I am interested in spirituality and
philosophy about spirituality and the human condition and God or some sort
of ultimate reality. I am especially drawn to Hinduism and Buddhism but
especially to advaita vedanta.I dip in and out of it as get engrossed in
various aspects of everyday life plus dont have any likeminded persons to
discuss such things with. I do sometimes attend an advaita vedanta group in
Somerset (Vedantarama/ Derek Thorne) which is very good- but it takes me a
few hours to get there and isnt quite what I am looking for. I want to study
a bit more often and also to have people to learn from and people to discuss
advaita vedanta with. I work full time for the moment which means my time to
pursue these interests are limited.

Drawn primarily to spirituality since a young man. A bit of a reader, have
lately found myself reading Shri Shankara's works. Came to them simply
because I wanted to read an Upanishad--and then found, somewhat
catastrophically for one who knows no Sanskrit, that there are as many
translations as there are interpretations. Of course, we may never get to
the solely correct one--that is allowable--but it was only when I tried to
find books on the works of Shankara that I came across Shri
Satchidanandendra Swami's works. And I was hooked.
