What is the source from which sAtvika, rAjasika and
tAmasika purANAs have appeared?Do they have one source only or different sources?Can any learned member clarify?With respectful Pranams,Sreenivasa Murthy.

The question of what is tamasa puranas is also contradictory in the puranas
itself. For example Garuda Purana has a different list. The skanda Purana
has a different list. Interestingly enough these are considered
interpolations due to various reasons.
