five devtas have a relation with pancha-mahabhutas, etc. So, the addition of one would cause the disorder. I hope I am being clear here in my thought process.

Ø    First of all I am unable to understand the logic behind linking the paNchAyatana devata with pancha mahabhuta-s since we have already have the exclusive adhi devata-s or abhimAni devata for five elements like agini, vaayu, varuNa etc.  Just because pancha maha bhUta-s (or tanmAtra) are there and paNchAyatana are five devata-s and five is the common in both we cannot illogically link it and prohibit the new entrants 😊 For that first we should firmly and logically establish this fact on the basis of scriptures.  In the scriptures, in the process of creation these things have been explained without linking it to the paNchAyatana devata-s.  i.e. shabda (sound), sparsha (touch), rUpa (form), rasa (taste), gaNdha (smell) are the five tanmAtras. As we know, taNmAtra  means ‘only that.’ shabda taNmAtra, for instance has only the characteristic of sound etc. As the idea of creation arises in Ishwara, samashti buddhi, manas and ahaMkAra appear. hiraNyagarbha who is born along with them has identity with this collective intellect (samashti buddhi) as himself. He is aparabrahman  (ref. vide sUtra bhAshya 4.3.7-10). It is he who creates the five bhutas from the taNmAtra-s. With these five bhUta-s prajApati is born etc.  See in this whole process of creation we cannot link the paNchAyatana devata when scriptures are silent on this linking.  So, I would like to say your linking of paNcha mahAbhUtA-s, panchendriya ( again for this abhimAni devata-s are already there), paNchakOsha etc.  with panchaayatana devata is kevala ‘bhAvanAtmaka’ and it is not saiddhAntika.  So based on this bhAvanAtmaka explanation we cannot deduct any other deity or devata by saying order is misplaced by this extra addition😊
