Dear friends,
A very great Vedantin of the last century writes thus :Some people, even amongthose that ought to know better, often confound the Hindu Religion withVedanta. Although the former derives its vital sap from its relationship to it,its outlook is comparatively narrow and its methods radically dogmatic, whileVedanta builds upon the fundamentals of human nature, excludes no class offacts from the purview of its investigation, and denies no community of men thebenefits of its truths. Tolerance is its key-note and fanaticism simply cannotbreathe in its atmosphere and live.
unquote.
What a profound statement it is!
This fact has to be borne by the students of Vedanta in their minds.A student of Vedanta should approach the subject of Vedanta as a humanbeing onlyand not as a Hindu or belonging to any sect.
With respectful pranams,Sreenivasa Murthy
