Avidya produces adhyasa - Bhagavatam

In this chapter of the Bhagavatam there is a beautiful discourse on the
delusion that man becomes subject to.

The analogy given is - for a person who does not know the existing rope
there, there results the the error of taking it to be a snake. In this
context  the Bhagavata says avidya which is akin to ignorance of the rope,
results in adhyasa, that is the error of perceiving a snake.
