[Advaita-l] What is Prakriti as per Shankaracharya?

Shankaracharya has indeed mentioned a lot about Prakriti in the Gita
bhashya and elsewhere too. He has said that it is trigunatmika maya
consisting of sattva, rajas and tamas. It is neither the same as Brahman
nor is it different from bramhan. Its status is anirvachaniya, that is, it
is unreal, mithya. It does not have an absolute existence; it appears and
it is experienced but upon enquiry it ceases to be.
