Please don’t think otherwise.  The problem is interpretation of the same
shruti vAkya by different schools of thought.  Hence confusion.  For
example asadvA idamagra Asit, by taking this literally we cannot say only
asat was there in the beginning even before brahman 😊 Likewise other
shruti vAkya-s will be interpreted by respective schools of thought to
match their core doctrine.  You quoted tamas is at the beginning we, the
advaitins,  say it is avyakta  or avyAkruta sUkshma parApara prakruti in
brahman before creation.  If you go to dvaitins, they will say something
else which appears to us (advaitins) shruti viruddha.  So, story goes on
and on...

I think you have more doubts in dvaita (tattvavaada) than Advaita 😊 There
are plenty of material available in web to clarify these doubts from
dvaitins' point of view.  Better have a look at it.  If you ask these
doubts to  advaitins, obviously we see the problem  in doubt itself as it
is the problem of dvaita and more importantly shruti viruddha!!😊

Dvaitas accept panchantantra . But panchatantra says souls are created by
vasudeva.

The Dvaitis say Ishwara is the One and Only Independent Reality. The world
and souls are also real but they are Dependent Reality. If the Srutis say
Brahman was only existing in the beginning it means  Brahman the
Independent was existing. But the world and souls were also existing along
with Brahman as Dependent realities.

Kindly study the Paradhina Visesapti Vada of Dvaita to see more details.
