The Manimekalai, a Tamil Classic, is admitted to be  a work of the 2 CE.
In the 27th chapter thereof, various schools of thought have been
enumerated with some description.  Here, while explaining pramana-s, the
wrong cognition, adhyasa, is described with the shell-silver analogy:
