Aksharam:
अक्षरं प्रणवे धर्मे प्रकृतौ तपसि क्रतौ ॥ वर्णे मोक्षे च ना त्वेष
शिवविष्णुविरिञ्चिषु । 'A'-kaara: 'a' signifies the Trimurtis. अकारो
ब्रह्मविष्ण्वीशकमठेष्वगणे रणे । गौरवेऽन्तःपुरे हेतौ भूषणेऽङ्‌घ्रावुमेज्ययोः
॥ 'Aja' (unborn) is used to denote the Trimurti-s: अजः शंभौ विष्णुधात्रोः
कामे छागे रघोः सुते । 'a:' अः (different from akaara) denotes the
Trimurtis: अः शिखायां सिद्धमन्त्रे प्रग्रहेऽर्करथार्वणि ॥ चक्रे
कुक्कुटमूर्ध्नीन्दुबिम्बे ब्रह्मेशविष्णुषु । 'Kedara' denotes the abode of
Shankara: केदारः शंकरक्षेत्रे शैलभेदालवालयोः ॥ 'Avyakta' (masculine)
denotes Vishnu and Shankara: क्लीबं प्रधानेऽप्यव्यक्तं विष्णुशंकरयोः पुमान्
। 'Sarvajna' (omniscient) is used in the case of Shankara and Buddha: सर्वज्ञः
शंकरे बुद्धे.. 'Bhishma' (the Fierceful) is used to denote Rudra and
Gaangeya (the Bhishmna of Mahabharata, who is the son of Gangaa) भीषणे
त्रिषु भीष्मः स्याद्रुद्रगाङ्गेययोस्तु ना । स्कन्दस्य शंभोर्धातुश्च
पर्यायाः सकलाः क्रमात् । रुद्राक्षे षण्मुखे पञ्चमुखे चापि चतुर्मुखे ॥ The
name 'Shabhu' is used to denote the Trimurtis: शंभुर्धातृहरीशेषु डिम्भो
बालकमूर्खयोः ॥ 'Vinayaka' is used to denote Ganesha, Garuda, Buddha: विनायकस्तु
सुगते गरुत्मति गणाधिपे । 'Kumara' denotes Shuka and Skanda: कुमारो ना शुके
स्कन्दे युवराजेऽश्ववारके । The name 'vrushaakapi' that occurs in the Vishnu
Sahasra Nama is shared by Shiva and Vishnu: उपतापौ रोगतापौ *शिवविष्णू
वृषाकपी *। There are many interesting entries in this lexicon. warm regards
