Dear Friends,                      KundaliniMaha Yoga is an ancient universal science, perfected over thousands of years. It is not a religion, but a spiritual practice that brings the experience oflasting inner peace and happiness to individuals of any belief or religiousaffiliation. Kundalini Maha Yoga is based on a very simpleprinciple: in every human being there is a source of divine energy. The sourceof energy is Kundalini.Kundalini is in two states: the dormant state, and the active, aroused, orawakened state. When this source is dormant, a person leads an incomplete, unfulfilled life. One's understanding of the universe is restricted, andeverything is perceived and interpreted according to a limited capacity.
On the otherhand, when the source is active, progress is rapid on the path of spiritualevolution. One realizes the full potential of body and mind, attains innerpeace, harmony and integration, and ultimately experiences the sublime truth ofunity in diversity -- the fact that all life is one and is bound by that divinepower called love. The purpose of Kundalini Maha Yoga is to awaken this sourceof energy if it is dormant, or to intensify the activity if it is alreadyawakened. Kundalini Maha Yoga is a direct method for spiritual evolution.

A powerful yogiawakens the aspirant's Kundalini by a transfer of his or her energy to theaspirant. This process, known as Shaktipat, activates the dormant Kundalini and is like lighting a candlewith one that is already lit and glowing. Shaktimeans power or energy and patmeans transfer. Thus Shaktipat is transfer of energy. Some people may have fears about working with the Kundalini, but it isabsolutely safe to practice Kundalini Maha Yoga under the guidance of arealized Guru (Immortal).

Kundalini can beawakened by attaining perfection of certain hatha yoga postures called asanas, by certain breathing exercisesaimed at controlling the breath called pranayama,by God's grace, by meditation or by intense devotion. Another technique ofgreat importance is Shaktipat, the transmission of energy. A powerful yogi cantransmit energy to an aspirant and awaken the Kundalini. This is accomplishedin one of four ways: by touch, gaze, sound or thought. The yogi may touch the disciple and transmit energy through physicalcontact, or gaze at the disciple and energy flows from the yogi's eyes. Theyogi may utter words which carry energy or, more subtly, energy can betransferred directly by the yogi's thought or will. The process ofShaktipat can be performed only by those yogis who have gained complete controlover the life force, which is called prana.Generally this happen who’s spiritual work is un-finished during the last birthor his janma samskara may take the person to get inthis way and for sure not toall people.
Once theKundalini is awakened, the student may have a variety of experiences: seeingflashes of light or colors, hearing internal sounds of bells ringing or beeshumming, spontaneous vibrations or movements of the body, and greater mentalpeace, to name a few. Different individuals will have different experiences --there is no definite pattern applicable to everyone. Once the Kundalini isawakened, this fact becomes known through the student's own experiences. If atthis stage the student persists in spiritual practices like meditation, thenthe Kundalini will travel upward from the base of the spinal column where Shelay dormant before. During Her upward journey through the spinal column, Shepierces all the chakras in succession and ultimately reaches the sahasrara. When this happens, the student attains a state of transcendental consciousnesscalled samadhi, understandsone's true identity, and is thereby liberated. During the student's spiritualefforts, the Guru's help is of immense value. Shaktipat initiation creates asubtle bond between the teacher and student that allows the teacher to givefresh impetus to his or her student's Kundalini and eliminate obstructions thatmay arise. Any learned members, pls put your views on the pitfalls or some of the symptoms of kundalini arousal.Caution: There will be many pitfalls & lot of hard troubles involved in this path if you have any self-agenda/interest. some times shakti will make you roam around or may deceive to test your potential. If some one want to walk selflessly with mere devotion to the lotus feet then nature unfolds to the person with flow of grace from the lotus feet comes automatically will surely leads to Liberation.
Sri Guru Padaravindarpana MastuKameswara
