Dear Friends,SriShankara writes : What is the svarUpa of Atma / ONESELF? Sri Shankara says :        AtmA iti kAryakaraNasvAvayavasaMGAtavyatiriktaM        kAryakaraNAvaBAsakam        AdityAdi bAhyajyOtirvat svayamanyEna anavaBAsyamAnam        aBidIyatE jyotiH ||                   [BruhadaraNyaka ; 4-3-6]
Sri SureShwaracarya says :         EvaM sarvasmin vyaBicAriNi AtmavastvEva avyaBicAri iti ||        While the Self is invariable, all other objects are variable.                        [Naishkarmyasiddhi; 2-79]
The above two teachings are to be utilised to cognize one's TRUE NATURE / AtmasvarUpa wthin himself by himself. Mantra 4-4-23 of BruhadaraNyaka Upanishad states : AtmanyEva AtmanaM paSyati||
This understanding will culminate in being an Atmavit. Thus taught my Revered Guru.

With respectful namaskars,Sreenivasa Murthy
