Also, Paul Hacker is thoroughly let down by Sureshwara and Padmapada. Both
have very clearly established that Shankara was indeed Shiva. Sureshwara,
in another vartika, says Shankara bore the name of 'Vedhā', Creator. Why
would a 'Vaishnava' Shankara, as per Paul Hacker, bear the name of the
