Dear Bhaskarji,
Thanks. It is a difficult proposition. How can the same person write two bhshyas, not agreeing with each other. Unfortunately I can't read and ubnerstand the Kannada language, except a .few words of that. . May be somebody will translate these relevant pages from the work of SSS.

I think above (five different
incarnations of Adi shankara) is what kAnchi paraMpara
says but if I am right not supported by shringeri
paraMpara. Sri SSS observes
in sUtra bhAshya Kannada introduction that there is
difference in the stand of some ‘same’ topic in sUtra
and bruhadAraNyaka bhAshya, though both are believed from
the pen of Adi shankara.

Since Vacaspati Mishra wrote Bhamati, Sri Vidyashankaar (who
was born much later than Adi Shankaracharya) has to be left
out, but was there not any other Shankarachaya, who could
have done it with the same diction. I understand that there
were five Shankaracharyas,

May be the treatment of the Panchikarana and other topics
may give some help. As Sri Sureshvaracharya also wrote on
Panchikarana, the bhasyakara could have been Adi
Shankaracharya. The mention of Purnavarman (alias Haala),
the Magadha king of the Satavahana
dynasty, in the BS Bhasya, may also support this.
