Namaste,

What makes you think so? The agni dhyAna itself mentions that agni dEvata has shikhA.

saptahastaH chatusshrungaH saptajihvO dvishIrSakaH
tripAtprasannavadanaH sukhAsInaH shuchismitaH
mESArUDO jaTAbaddhO gauravarNO mahaujasaH
dhUmradhvajO lOhitAkSaH saptArchiH sarvakAmadaH
*shikhA*bhirdIpyamAnAbhiH UrdhvagAbhistu saMyutaH
svAhAM tu dakSiNE pArshvE dEvIM vAmE svadhAM tathA
vibhradakSiNahastaistu shaktimannaM sruchaM sruvaM
tOmaraM vyajanaM vAmE ghritapAtraM cha dhArayan
AtmAbhimukhamAsIna EvaM rUpO hutAshanaH

In shAradA tilaka tantra, the agni dhyAna is:

iSTaM shaktiM svastikAbhItimucchaiH dIrghairdOrbhirdhArayantaM japAbhaM
hEmAkalpaM padmahastaM trinEtraM dhyAyEt vahniM *vahni-mouLiM* jaTAbhiH

The vaidika & tAntrika agni dhyAna both do mention that agni too sports with shikhA.

So, to imbibe His qualities, a brAhmaNa too should sport with shikhA.  Eventually, agni upAsana leads the brAhmaNa to tat-abhEda-bhAvana-siddhi.

When smritikArAs have handed over their Apta vAkyAs, a proper samanvaya has to be
made rather than brushing it aside arguing that it is not shruti vAkya.

sriram
