[Advaita-l] Is Tirupati's Balaji a Buddhist deity (Avalokiteshwara)?

Anyway, I am glad there are (until now) no claims on Balaji to be a icon of a 2 millenia-old middle eastern 
prophet or one of his dozen disciples.....

One would not be surprised if claims are done....One of the top officials in TTD is a christian and also a board
member (name not to be disclosed).

BTW, the most revered scholars Shri.SK Ramachandra Rao has done extensive research on Srinivasa Perumal who 
is also the author's kula-devata and authored a book "Tirupathi Thimmappa".

A wonderful book from historical perspective which settles the issue.
