[Advaita-l] Question: What is 'त्रैत-प्रमाण' (traita-pramANa) ?

namaste Sri Durga Prasad

May I ask where the phrase त्रैत-प्रमाण comes from?
The rest of the quote is verbatim from Chaandogya 6.1.4
But even in the भाष्यम् of that verse, I cannot see a reference to
त्रैत-प्रमाण.

I am guessing here, but Uddaalaka gives 3 examples of the correct way of
seeing:
मृत्तिक
लोहम्
कृष्णायसम्
So perhaps this is a reference to the three examples he gives?
(That is, the clay in all things made of clay, the gold in all things made
of gold and the iron in all things made of iron)
The phrase could then mean "The three correct ways of seeing" with
reference to the three examples.

Yours in Truth
Ryan
