Sorry for a typo. Kindly read the part of the sentence <the translator may have to keep out mind<

  Namaste,
Late Sastriji has desired that his incomplete work on  his translation of part of the Panchapadika be taken up by the esteemed scholars and I am sure we have a number of eminent scholars who would be glad to do that. If permitted, may I voice a concern to say that  we have to treat the Panchapadika  more as Adi Shankara's own work than that of his disciple,  and that is because it is said to have finally come out of Adi Shanka's own mukha-padma. If this is so the translator may have to keep out mind the views of Vacaspati Mishra and Mandana Mishra (the latter being the purvashrama personality of Sureshwaracharya himself). To my knowledge Adi Shankara and Padmapada were of the opinion that the Mahavakyas belonging to the Uttara-mimamsa create a sattvic frame of mind and can generate direct knowledge, whereas Vacaspati Mishra conrested that based on the views of Mandana Mishra's view's related to Purva-Mimansa. Purva-mimansa does need paroksha interpretation, which involves a sort of mental work before understanding / assimilation, but on the contrary  the Vedanta has no such hang ups. I am however open to correction.

Regards,Sunil KB

Sasriji has been my mentor/ supporter, whom I met via this list. I visited him at his home few years ago and paid my respects to him.

He provided guidance to the advaitin list since he was on board as moderator. He also served as chief moderator for an year. We are going to miss him a lot.

Just the other day he has sent me in a private mail, his translation of part of Panchapadika, regretting that he is not in a position to complete it. I would very much like if that work can becompleted and offer it in dedication to Pujya Sastriji. I appreciate if Pranipataji and/or Subbjuji or anyone else can undertake that job in honor of Pujya Sasriji and complete it for publication.
