[Advaita-l] Ashvina amAvAsya and kArtika pratipadA

Dharmasindhu:

In the amAvAsyA of the Ashvina month, abhyanga snAna in the morning,
offering lighted lamps and lakShmI pUjA in the pradoSha kAla (roughly two
and a half hours after sunset) are enjoined.

अथाश्विनामावास्यायां प्रातरभ्यंगः प्रदोषे दीपदानलक्ष्मीपूजनादि विहितम्

The karmas prescribed for three days (dIpAvali) beginning with naraka
chaturdashi, are both nitya and kAmya, because if they are not done there
will be doSha (which makes them nitya karma) and if they are done there
will be prosperity and elimination of poverty ( which makes them kAmya).

एवं चतुर्दश्यादिदिनत्रयेऽभ्यङ्गाद्युत्सवस्याकरणे नरकादिदॊषश्रवणात्करणे
लक्ष्मीप्राप्त्यलक्ष्मीपरिहारादिफलश्रवणाच्च नित्यकाम्योभयरूपत्वम्|

The Bali figure is made in white rice grains and worshiped with the mantra:

तत्र मन्त्र:। बलिराज नमस्तुभ्यं विरोचनसुत प्रभो। भविष्येन्द्र सुराराते
पूजेयं प्रतिगृह्यताम्॥
