Yes I am reminded of Nachiketa.  His father Vajashrava (Uddalaka Aruni) 
had performed the sarvamedha yajna by the book.  So why was Nachiketa 
troubled?  Because he strove for the best not merely the adequate.  Thus 
Dharmaraj Himself consented to teach him.
