Pranams Sri Sadananda,

I am trying to understand the nitty-grittys of Sri Adisankara's
philosophy, so that I have a mental map of what constitutes the primitives
and superstructure of the system

                  Yes, I understand that.

adhyaasa that arise due to avidya has to be anaadi or

I can connect with that also. My understanding is 'Has
Avidya a beginning?' should not be asked or should be 'unasked'.

since if it has beginning then one

That is fine as long as knowledge is with a capital K.
In everyday transactional (vyavaharika) reality
knowledge-ignorance-knowledge is the norm. So now my problem is, what does
the term avidya signify? Is it just the belief that 'I am different from
Brahman' or the whole set of beliefs which constitute my belief system at
this instant ( and every other instant in the future)?

anaadi avidya and anaadi jiiva notions are
